Lives and works in Paris

Elise Toïdé composes during her distant and local travels a personal score according to a luminous and pictorial panoply of narrative fragments. Her images taken in 35 mm, are above all an art of observation - an artistic expression allowing her to merge her daily life and her personal aesthetic experience by giving body to the idea of time passing and loss but also to what persists despite everything. She transcends reality by equalizing the exotic and the everyday and photographs interiors, hatchings and human destinies to the rhythm of daylight. Elise Toïdé's work deals with the flight of time with lyricism, melancholy and sensitivity. Her portraits, both moving and bucolic, unanimous and personal, reveal a secret within them, like a tool allowing the viewer to decipher their own emotions or to detect the beginning of a story.
