Gouri Mounir was born in Annaba, Algeria, in 1985. He is part of this young generation of visual artists concerned both by his status as an artist but also by what young people his age encounter on a daily basis as difficulties on a social, cultural, and political level. Being born in 1985 means having lived an entire childhood and adolescence in the painful climate of the civil war. But Gouri Mounir, inscribes his work far from this tragedy but rather in the current events and socio-political and economic realities, which are shaking up Algerian society. Interested in new media, he uses both performance, video, photography and sculpture. Gouri Mounir has several group and personal exhibitions to his credit.
